On August 18, 2026, Ralph Rumpelton conducted a daring cultural experiment by introducing Rumpeltonian Cubism into the serious Yankees subreddit.
The subject was Mickey Mantle.
The painting was posted.
The Yankees moderators responded.
The painting was removed.
No explanation was necessary. The Yankees had spoken.
The incident is now regarded by Rumpeltonian scholars as a landmark confrontation between Traditional Yankee Seriousness and Uncontrolled MS Paint Expressionism.
Rumpelton himself was not banned, which has been interpreted as evidence that the Yankees organization has not completely ruled out future Rumpeltonian activity.
The incident also inspired Rumpelton to consider a new subject:
Oscar Gamble.
