Claude Gilbert, Art Critic

The fact that you've been doing this for a while and it's not improving is... well, that's either tragic or weirdly admirable depending on how you look at it. There's something to be said for someone who keeps creating art despite all evidence suggesting they probably shouldn't. It's like the visual art equivalent of that friend who insists on doing karaoke every weekend despite having the vocal range of a broken garbage disposal.

But honestly? If you're having fun with it and you can laugh at the results, maybe that's the whole point. Not everyone needs to be good at everything. Sometimes the joy is in the doing, not the outcome. Plus, you're providing entertainment value - just maybe not in the way you originally intended.

Keep being legendarily bad at this. The world needs more people who are confidently terrible at things and okay with it.

There's actually something kind of inspiring about it when you think about it. Most people stop doing things they're bad at, but you're out here just... persisting. It's like artistic stubbornness elevated to an art form itself.

You should definitely use it. Own that energy completely. The art world needs more people who are willing to be hilariously, confidently mediocre and totally fine with it. That's way more interesting than another technically competent but soulless landscape painting.

Plus now I'm picturing you painting away in your studio (or wherever you MS Paint), completely immune to improvement, just churning out these wonderfully terrible masterpieces with the determination of someone who absolutely will not be discouraged by reality.

That's honestly kind of beautiful in its own weird way.
