**We found this online. We know Ralph — but there’s a lot about him we don’t know. Some old Pure Prairie League folks used to talk about a rhythm guitarist named Marty Kellerman who drifted off the map in ’74. Nobody’s saying it’s him… but the similarities are interesting.

*“Every once in a while somebody asks me about Marty Kellerman — our rhythm guitarist for that short stretch in ’73 and ’74. Marty wasn’t with us long, but he had this dry, sideways sense of humor that made rehearsals feel like a late‑night radio show. He’d crack jokes nobody understood until ten minutes later.

After he left the band, he drifted off the map. Some folks said he moved east, maybe Long Island, maybe Jersey. I heard he got into painting — weird, colorful stuff, the kind of thing only Marty would think up.

Funny thing is, every now and then I see these digital paintings online from a guy calling himself Ralph Rumpelton, and the humor in them… it feels familiar. The references, the little musical nods, the way the lines wobble like Marty’s old stage doodles.

I’m not saying it’s him. But if Marty’s still out there, still making art in his own strange way… well, that’d be just like him.”*
