While most fans gravitate toward the Bootleg Series: Rolling Thunder Revue for its clarity and star power, Hard Rain is where the real storm hits. The TV special and album catch Dylan’s traveling circus in all its ragged glory — part party, part breakdown. The music sounds spontaneous, unrehearsed, and full of raw nerves. The Baez duet on “I Pity the Poor Immigrant” is one of the emotional peaks — not pretty, but painfully human.
